Since I'm too kind I aceeded to their request and opted for the wooden paddle.
Another "no pain no gain" situation.
I hope that they will appreciate and be grateful for my kindness...
Next time it will be the cane again (or both ?).

Since you're a regular poster here you should have already noticed that it's some kind of funny back and forth "play" we used to have here with hornythumb (to whom my message was intended). we're doing this all the time to fuel the thread.
You may consider it as overly critical or offensive if so inclined, but is was clearly not my intention. I'll be more cautious in the future to not offend anyone.
