Just one persons opinion, but the best whipping strokes were ZFX'.

They used a combination of light whips and full body and arm motion to provide some of the most convincing whipping scenes, even when measured against todays stuff. It's obvious that Rick Masters and crew studied the physics of whipping. They then made it look hard and real on camera.

I like what Alex does, and it does vary, according to the subject and how hard the whip strokes can be. IMO. I like his medium length singletail, and it makes a very nice "thwock" as he lays it on a victim.

About different guys in Cruel World scenes, IDK. I've seen another guy that could be his son (?) in the rough footage from a custom. But that guy was obviously a helper and wasn't included in the final edit.

I think Rick and crew studied the way different materials (as in used as whip blades) reacted to swinging, the way they looked when they landed on a body. The way they looked when swung hard vs. lightly.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they did a few screen tests of the most promising candidates (whips) and chose the best few examples to make their whips.

Of course, they chose their actresses for reactions plus they (actresses) didn't mind some light-medium contact so much.

Another person I'd be interested in finding out more about his whipping would be Ed of NuWest fame. Seen in this image with gorgeous Catherine D'Lish.

I'm glad you enjoyed the zfx whipping strokes, that was me travislee doing some 12 movies or so. there was a technique to it making it look real yet not hurt the actress !!! most of the girls did not complain but accepted the role they were playing. i did not want to waste more money with alex unless the guy whips them harder than alex. if its a boyfriend then she lets the whipping harder maybe ?

Chances are if you don't watch the movies, you're not going to vote for him. The last 3 people inducted were all artists, and it's probably easier to quickly glance at some art samples and say, "Wow, that guy's good" and vote for him rather than invest the hours or so it would take to watch whipping videos. Hard to say. It all comes down to the individual voter and the effort he takes to fill out his ballot.

I don't know if I'd term him a "pioneer". His lack of exposure could have resulted in a lack of popularity.
Like Hidden Pleasures. Never knew anything about them until they popped up in a post on this forum.
For instance, my only familiarity with RDF was through seeing them on HOM flyers. And my lack of cash prevented buying some of that stuff. Reading some of the early bondage papers that were around helped.

And there are depths to this Ralphus cat that remain unknown for the average GIMPer. I was watching the "Amy Hesketh" interviews on YT and Ralphus' name popped up as an important donor. Who knew?
