I was in my 20s then, and my girlfriend at the time had told me about this paperback she read when she was younger. It even had a girl tied to a chair right on the cover.
It's funny, but my experience was about the same. My first exposure to it was from a girl in high school band class with me. She was reading it and said it was horrifyingly amazing. She showed me the "girl tied to a chair behind a door" cover and gave me a quick synopsis. I wasn't really into horror genre stuff, but out of social courtesy I flipped through it, skimming bits and pieces, until I came to the end about Barbara getting tied to the gate and the barbecue grill. I knew I had to have that book, but I was too cool to ask her about it so I gave it back. But that cover stuck with me.

Fast forward to the Internet, this website, and disposable income, and I picked up an original edition hardcover (no dust jacket unfortunately). Read the whole thing. The ending wasn't what I was expecting, but when I tried to envision a better one, nothing really clicked. The only way he could've improved the book for the mainstream would have been a trial scene and sentencing, but that wasn't really what this book was about.

But here's to his bringing bondage into horror in an intelligent way.

Just wanted to repeat a nomination I made late in the process last year. If the HOF is only for older stuff or "mainstream" materials, then this is out of line.

I'd nominate Cruel World's Alex. He has made a commitment of years to finding and torturing a remarkable group of models, generally completely nude, well enough bound and responding to a variety of tastes including hanging, crux, whipping, burning, electro and more. More importantly, he does almost all his work as very-reasonably-priced customs, allowing pedestrian gimps like many of us, who don't have the artistic talents to DIY, to specify our models and scripts. A quick look at the Cruel World site (http://www.deadsexyclips.com/0001134/in ... 63d4143844) shows the range and production quality of his work. For those who can't afford to specify their own fantasies, it is possible to purchase those of many others (including a number on this board) for very low prices.

For one who began his journey with Blakemore and HOM's earlier work in the late 60's and early 70's, the development of RedFeline, PainGate/Whipped Woman, Elite Pain, Lomp, Queensnake and others using the internet has been a dream (not even dared to dream in those early days) come true. Maybe AI and robotics will extend things even further, but for me the ability to torture excellent GIMPS like Tay, Cry, Arina and many more and receive the raw footage as well as the completed video for my own editing, capping, etc. has been astonishing. Certainly the a

If we don't have to wait for our HOF nominees to die to honor them, it's hard for me to imagine a better candidate than Alex. He has democratized (from Russia no less) the GIMP fantasy in ways I could never have imagined.

As the ballots slowly pour in for this year's GIMP Hall of Fame, one name that is consistently overlooked is producer David F. Friedman. He may not be a household name to GIMPers, but a look at his body of GIMP-related work is mind-boggling. This King of Exploitation Cinema knew how to make big bucks, and one of the ways was producing films featuring women being kidnapped, bound, raped and tortured, starting with some of the earliest "roughies" of the 1960s and continuing on through the 2000s.
When I saw some of his opus I wasn't paying attention to who was the film's director, now that I know I would agree that Friedman is a very good candidate. If there were a mention for memorable GIMP scenes, that strappado whipping scene in "Love Camp 7" would be definitively at the top of the list.

I second the vote for Alex. As a frequent patron of his productions and having financed around 25 (so far) customs, I can attest that he has done more for bondage GIMP performance than most other producers. For the money, his work is tough to beat.

If I had to pick one model out of the others, it would be Tay. I cast her in one of my early customs and when I saw the Behind The Scenes footage, I was blown away by how much she controlled the setting, the lighting, and the performance. She goes from begging and fighting to "Hey, check that camera" and "I think the light should be pointed over here" in a split second. She also helped manage the bookings and payments for other models. Her influence on Alex's work is a lot more than what the common viewer would believe.

I'd also suggest White Rose, who's grasp on English helps tremendously with explaining scripts and booking models. I firmly believe that part of my convincing models to take my roles is because she can explain to them better what the video is about; certainly better than a Google Translate would. White Rose can explain the nuances in the performance to the actors, and that results in a better video. Her acting as Dr. Squalus has certainly improved over the course of the films. All at a reasonable rate of pay.

Yes, Alex and his team has certainly democratized the GIMP genre by making it approachable and affordable for the common fan. If nothing else, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame for that reason alone.

Another day, another deserving GIMP Hall of Fame candidate.

Today we're highlighting French artist Joseph Farrel. I'm a big fan of his work, with over 1000 of his artworks on my hard drive. He specialized in depictions of severe breast abuse, humiliation, unique tortures and often depicted his victims in tears or in heavy distress. Basically, everything that rings my bell. While the subject matter might be extreme, they were always beautifully drawn pencil art. Farrel is another one of those candidates who narrowly missed by one vote last year; this would be a good time to elect him.

Another thing about Alex is that he's very prolific, meaning he puts out a lot of good quality product these days. And he puts the proceeds back into his business, with different costuming (for him ;) ), additional cameras, different sets/set decoration/devices, etc. It looks like a labor of love for him.

He's getting my vote this year, for sure!

I know of three costumes he's bought just for my videos: 1) the white lab coats, 2) his Mad Monk robe, and 3) a Slave Leia loincloth for Marie to portray a barbarian queen. He's constructed the gray cell just for a film set and recently completed his new Inquisition set (which I want to write a story for). He definitely has an eye for growth.

What follows is a shameless attempt to alert voters to a candidate who really deserves to join the elite group already in Hall. This list is by no means complete, but take a look at just a few of the titles this man was responsible for:

The Ramrodder

And once again, there is still time to become a voting member for the GIMP Hall of Fame, just send me an email to ralphus44@aol.com and I'll mail you out your official ballot.
I remember stumbling across a VHS tape of THE RAMRODDER at a video store back in the early nineties and thinking the whipping scene was the hottest thing I had seen this side of BARBARIAN QUEEN 😁

A worthy addition :)

The Ramrodder has a couple of Manson Family members in the cast. That alone makes it kind of an interesting movie to see.

I would include Road Runner (Malsavia) in the GHF ballot. His art is superb.
