RIP, Lana.

Film maker Roger Corman is 94 today. Wonder what GIMP-related treasures are in his film "vault" that have never been released. Cut scenes, outtakes, etc.

I always hoped for some unused footage from the infamous Galaxy of Terror worm rape scene with Taaffe O'Connel.

I cherish her dungeon scene in "Barbarian Queen". She could have done so much more in other movies. A true icon.

I recall an interview with Lana in "Femme Fatales" magazine where she described the torture scene in Barbarian Queen as her least favorite scene of all time. And that's ironic, because it's the movie that she's probably best known for. She was really, really good in both the BQ movies, and the fact that she was both beautiful and also naked while enduring her tortures are part of the reason why she's so revered by GIMPers. No wonder she was a first-ballot GIMP Hall-of-Famer.

I managed to exchange emails with her about 1-2 years before she got killed by this stupid guy called Spector.
When asked if she would shoot a BQ III, she replied: never something like this!
She wished for more serious roles and regretted that finding such roles was so difficult for her.

This really great scene is high on my rating.
But there are 2 negative points:
1. The elegant thong panty. Better would have been a loincloth (best: NAKED, of course).
2. There are no traces of the torture. Not even a scratch! I do not understand that! Why?
Although in this film there are many very bloody scenes with other women.

Especially 2. also applies to BQ II.
But at least the clothes are right here. Goes better with the costumes of the film.

And Lana's body has changed for the (even) better. She looks more mature and feminine.

Ah yes, the woman of my dreams and the woman who shaped me into the pervert I am today. The images of her bare-breasted body suffering the torments of the rack in Barbarian Queen I and II will always stay with me. In that dark corner of my mind she is imprisoned for my pleasure, suffering that slow death by torture on the rack that never quite arrives.

The "schwing" moment of Amathea's scream as Zohar tightens the rack to celebrate the entrance of Lord Arrakur into the torture chamber with Amathea's younger sister Taramis in tow.
