IMPORTANT; MEMORY SHORTAGE
Re: IMPORTANT; MEMORY SHORTAGE
OK, I get it. Posting images that conform with the rules set for the site is not good enough for the Karens who are experts at running someone else's web site. Besides, doing so would limit the ability of others to post pictures they took from other web sites and passed through an AI filter or Photoshopped.
I'll go somewhere else. Enjoy the extra memory.

I think I got all the images that people believed were consuming too much memory. I've asked the moderators to remove all my posts and delete my account, so that should pick up any posts I've missed. The extra resources should make you happy.cluseb wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 2:15 pmI'm saddened to hear/read that.BlirGimp wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 1:07 pm OK, I get it. What do you suggest Margot to do with all the extra resources? Maybe some more pictures of old women?
Re: IMPORTANT; MEMORY SHORTAGE
I've never reveled the content of a PM on any site before, But...

Oops, from a diplomatic perspective, that's got to be as big a failure as Antony Blinken.

You mean like you are doing right now?

Actually yes, as long as the posting limits are observed.

Not lying. I like most everything you create, and some are real treaures imo. I call it like I see it, so get used to it.doe.1971 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 6:23 pm Wulfie man, w/o your comments (and a seldom others) I wouldn't bother going on. Creators are suckers for criticism. Not praise but acknowledgement. I gave up on a few other places I tried to branch exactly because of this reason. So go on lying to me how good am I.
As for size, yeah, I try keep my 1920x1080 in the 200..300 KByte range

But lots of the images on this site are, in my view, just a waste of electrons as they are poorly crafted, non-GIMP in nature, and simply crude pieces of photos run through an AI filter or Photoshopped to add wounds and very little to no individual creativity. Or, multiple posts of the same image, with minor tweaks that make no discernable difference. Just 'cause someone Photoshopped a picture, ran it through an AI filter or scraped it off someone else's website does not make it an Art Contribution.
Or, folks are just reposting photos or drawings scraped from somebody else's web site like a million pirate sites do. If one was really concerned about running out of memory storage, "takin' out the trash" and clearing such images from the site should be a priority.

The problem is: That wasn't the mission.
The mission was to:
Promote an awareness of memory constraints in a commercial free .net environment.
My contribution to this fiasco leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Everybody called-out in this thread has "self-deported". I fear I have accidentally created a Star Chamber ( thread ).
Maybe I should ask Margot to delete this topic before it does any more damage.

For all his faults, Blinken, much like Churchill earlier, decided to stand against the tyranny. History will judge, not us.
Don't sweat. Some people are just immature primadonnas that have the erroneous idea that Earth revolves around them. This site, in its 25 years of history has seen many such coming and going. This too shall pass ...

Your insults will surely attract me and others who produce original artwork to post on this site. People on this site care more about preserving precious memory resources than the content of what's actually posted here. Enjoy the blank spaces knowing that they do not consume the electrons you and others like you find so precious. I, for one, am finished spending my time developing images for your enjoyment.
