You can also use OBS - it is normally used to stream online but can also record to local storage.
Thank you! I know this is a shot in the dark, but are there any versions of these that can work with a Windows 7 machine (long story)? Yeah, I know, time for an upgrade!
Not sure, but their respective sites are supposed to inform this.
If not, you can always try to install them.

What is the editing software that you use, Miss Belle? And thank you for the suggestion, I'll try it.

I guess I can look on the brighter side and be thankful that R18 at least gave notice, instead of simply dropping off the face of the earth and leaving us all scratching our heads and wondering.
You're welcome. I use wondershare filmora.

I've tried one so far, but it looks like it won't record videos encoded with DRM. Experimented, and I think it's the DRM. It captures "regular" video fine.

Does anyone know of a screen capture software that will record DRM-encoded video?

Pay is okay. I will try the couple suggested by the Forum members (thank you) in the meantime, but I don't want to install/uninstall many different varieties. SO frustrating.

TIA.

I used a video capture card. You will get one from USD 30 up.

But the Problem is that you have the video Online and capture it. So if the you have no good video stream you don't get good results.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm on laptop.

I remembered why I went back to Windows 7 in the first place. It's because with these DRM-protected movies, I can't even get a screenshot.

I got a new Windows 10 laptop and experimented with with a couple of screen capture programs. All I get is black screen for video. It captures mouse movement, time window moving, etc, but no image.

So SOL. Fuck DRM.

I've got to get busy and start capturing screenshots of my favorite JAV (with my W7 machine) before R18 totally goes away. I'm a bit angry (again) and pretty disappointed right now, so I don't want to say mean shit I might regret later. I'm sure R18 had their reasons for leaving us in the fucking lurch, thanks guys. One customer said he had a catalog of 500+ movies he's losing access to.

I'll leave you with a couple of screenshots from fabs034:

Over and out on this thread.

Most of the "capture cards" are USB - so no problem with a laptop.
