R18 closure.jpg

Very sad. I know they seemed to have lost their credit card processors a while back, but it's a severe bummer to JAV fans to have the site close its doors for good.

I wonder if they'll reopen under a different name?

Just found out another sucky thing in this closure: those who have bought into the R18 way of doing things, which is to essentially "rent" the movies on a "long term" basis will lose access to those movies when R18 closes its doors.

This really f**king sucks and I am pissed! I am never going to do business this way again. F**k DRM

Is there any way to remove the DRM to all of these JAV files I have, so I can continue to watch the Japanese XXX movies?

They are soon to be rendered worthless because the company is abandoning its customers without a solution. Or am I just S.O.L. (sh*t outta luck)?

Send me a PM if you don't feel like responding on the Forum.

Maybe you can record the films that you have access to and save them. I can record the screen with my editing software. I pay for mine but there are free ones available.

What is the editing software that you use, Miss Belle? And thank you for the suggestion, I'll try it.

I guess I can look on the brighter side and be thankful that R18 at least gave notice, instead of simply dropping off the face of the earth and leaving us all scratching our heads and wondering.

I use SimpleScreenRecorder on Linux.

If you use Windows, try these:

You can also use OBS - it is normally used to stream online but can also record to local storage.

Thank you! I know this is a shot in the dark, but are there any versions of these that can work with a Windows 7 machine (long story)? Yeah, I know, time for an upgrade!
