Help identifying artist

I casually stumbled on this pic browsing a folder on my HD. Can't remember who is the artist or where I got it, although it should have been downloaded by me fairly recently. Possibly from this very site, as GIMP features in the file name. Can anybody help?

I totally agree. As it's numbered 0038 there is hope it's part of a series.

Yes, I love this image as well, though unfortunately I don't know the artist either.
It strikes me as South Pacific/South America-influenced? The features of the captive (war?). Wood, and the stone floor of the chamber, plus the tribal/tropical markings on the pillar? The sharpened points of the X-Cross are a nice touch.

Gives more a northamerican vibe to me. Apache, Comanche...
I also do not think it is a chamber. While at her left knee there is something resembling paved stones, the bushes on the left of our POV make me think it is outside.
I also wonder if the fire is just to roast some game, or to play different games later...

It's definitely about an indigenous tribe of some sort. When I first looked at it, I thought 'African', but could also South or North American too. To me it looks like 'stockade' type walls and an open frame doorway (entrance?) behind her. The bottom corners of a roof structure are barely visible at the top. To me the scene says a native tribe about to sacrifice a virgin to the gods by her torture and death. That's my take on it, fwiw.
And those are close to the best 3D flames I've ever seen, btw. Congrats to our mysterious artist.

No clues about the mysterious artist for now... Of course I remain confident, and meanwhile here is another one I am not sure about which artist made it.
