The Rescuing of the Old Hacked Forum. Remember that one?
So, I've been tinkering with code, really tinkering, to recover the hacked forum of old.
But, alas, I must refresh your memory.
The Original Forum set up by Ralphus and co way back in 1999 suffered a problem in 2016, at the end of August, to be exact. At that time, the company that had the application, a guestbook application, where people could submit comments in a website, old html website, went out of business and the app simply died. All the material in it, from 1999 through 2016 is neatly stored in the GIMP archives.
https://ralphus.net/archives/archives.html
You can read them all there, some pictures don't come up for all sorts of reasons, but most of the text is there and you can see my opus pocus in full display plus all the nasty responses from our favorite trolls.
Well, the page in the archives dedicated to August 2016 ends on the 20th, with a post by A Canadian:
Amy jumped in, if you remember well, and quickly set up a new guestbook app and the GIMP Forum was back in biz in no time. As a matter of fact, the first page for August 2016 in the new set up contains basically everything beginning in August 15th, all the way to August 23rd.15021) A Canadian IP logged, 20 August 2016 07:44 PM Permalink
For what it's worth, Elizabeth Smart's comments are getting some mileage. The story has been picked up in my local tab, The Toronto Sun.
The first new post appears with the date August 21st responding to A Canadian:
There are no posts between 7 44 PM of the 20th and 3 04 AM of the 21st.15022) Joker Sunday, 21 August 2016 03:04 AM
Huh?...Elizabeth Smart is THE paradigm of the Mormon moral imperative denouncing porn as the cause of abductions and rapes? Uh huh...wait...I gotta cough *Warren Jeffs*..cough cough *LDS leader sentenced to years in federal prison*...cough cough cough *forced marriage to 6 and 7 year old girls*...hack... cough..OK, I feel better now...so, yeah, when I want to be lectured on the finer points of the "holier than thou" existence model I always turn to the BIGGEST INTERGALACTIC HYPOCRITES on the planet...the Mormon and Angel Moroni empire.
The U.S. has long been THE most sexually repressed nation on the face of the earth. This latest idiocy just reinforces that sentiment. Genre masters like Blakemore and Rick Masters have long had to fear the blind, cyclopean backlash from this horde of Moral Majority miscreants. These producers make FANTASY for adults. Those hypocrites ATTACK the fantasy because, in truth, it is THEY that LIVE OUT IN REAL LIFE what most sane, well adjusted people relegate to imagination.
More ZFX...less repression and hypocrisy. Here endeth the rant.
It is my believe that Amy copied all the posts she saw in the last page and put them up on the new place.
But regardless. I now have all the posts from August 21st 2016 through April 20th 2018, there are some missing still, but I'm working on recovering.

The cool thing is that mostly everything is there, all the posts, pictures, some don't appear, but most do, particularly those linked to other sites like ours and those pictures that are correctly linked to the folders in the site. Some might need to be reconnected.
I will probably be able to re set all of the old posts that were hacked until the very day the site fell in the hands of the Russian mother hackers. I guess I'll have to then get to work in recovering the first forum I set up, the one preceding this one, a bit more difficult, a whole different ballgame because it was not hacked, it simply died because of overstuffing.
Now the question for the ages. Do I set it up in the archives the same way the others are? And by that I mean on a monthly link? Or in ONE set up, the way it was, with links going back and back and back.
The newest posts will be in the first page, the way it was, and not beginning with the 1st of the months, like it is in the archives now. I don't know how that was set up, maybe it was a back up.
I'll take suggestions.
Here another post from the old hacked forum:
Greg: (Post 19547) Wow, sounds like you're a man of experience when it comes to wielding a branding iron. Awesome post, thank you. I'm not one who necessarily wants to brand a slave merely to prove ownership, I prefer to do it as punishment, in which case I couldn't care less if the iron is too hot. I like it when the iron is a nice glowing red, and it's important to let her see it, too. Let her watch it heat up so that she knows exactly what you're planning to do with it, and let the wonderful sense of dread wash over her face.
