Setting up the Database is a bitch!

We are getting there. Please do no post. All posts will disappear when the forum is bac as it was

Do not try to log in yet. We're setting this up and it will be a day or two before your information is in the database.

Like I said, setting up is a bitch.

We have some issues because the Forum is an old version of phpbb, that's one, two, all the settings are different now and they have to be corrected, reset, and so on. As a matter of fact, all the posts that are appearing now, mine of course, no one should post yet, will go away when the forum is back with the 'old' set up.

Just saying.

:D

The GIMP Forum is under renovation

I'm having a problem here. There's a drop down box under Quick links. It
has the items, Your posts, New posts, Unread posts, etc.

Problem is I can't get this box to go away and it covers up the information
underneath which therefore can't be read. Hopefully this will be resolved
as the GIMP site is rebuilt.
Like I said before, right now the forum is going through a lot of work. All the posts that are appearing now will go away once the old forum is reconnected as it was. DO NOT POST. Don't bother going through anything in the menu, it's not working properly yet. If it gets stuck just refresh the page or close the tab and re open again.

You'll see the changes coming up when the front page looks the way it was before.

The Re Opening of the GIMP FORUM

Well, well, well...

The FORUM is almost all set up.

We encountered a few problems which are preventing us from re setting the old posts and members. It should be quick and painless, but it is not and for one simple reason.

We can't make the old database work the way it should and that's because when the Forum went offline there was no way for me to access it and make a backup. I don't mean a backup of the entire site, which I have, but a backup of the db, which is necessary to make the connections quick and painless.

We tried a number of things but they didn't work.

So, we have to go the slow way, which means, we have to basically import them by hand and get them to work.

However, rather than to import the member's list maybe it is better if people register again.

I mean, that would be a way for all of ya to participate in the reconstruction, right?

We'll work on some of the posts, those are very strange files, and see if they reconnect. We have to have the map all set, which means, all the forums from before, where those posts were, so they can find their way.

So, now the Forum is officially open, people can register and post, the old posts will begin to re appear as we work on them.

Be free to create new topics and so on.

Some limitations will be obvious, for now, size of files, for instance, while we work this out. I'll have more information regarding this.

Question; when I re registered I used a different password than what I used before. Will that be a problem, and do I need to reset it back to the old one?
I also used a different e-mail address. (?)
