I know you know this movie...

Post by skullchaser »

... but for the life of me I can't remember the title. I remember it was a German production under a German title, translated to English loosely, and featured an actress who was quite popular in Europe for making low-budget dramas and adventure movies. I think it was "White Slave", but I can't get any hits on that title on IMDB. Plot is that a sultan/pirate captures a ship and she's on it. She's sold into slavery/harem but resists the king. She's stripped and bound AOH, and I think she receives a whipping but I'm not sure. I didn't recognize it in any of the entries in the WSIMDB here. Can anyone help?

Sorry, I've never seen this particular movie but the plot you're describing:

"...a sultan/pirate captures a ship and she's on it. She's sold into slavery/harem but resists the king. She's stripped and bound AOH, and I think she receives a whipping..."

Is exactly similar to the french movie "Angélique et le Sultan" (from 1968) with Michèle Mercier and Robert Hossein in the leading roles.
And the poor Angelique is also hot iron branded at the end of the sequence.
I guess it was a classic recurrent theme used in many movies then...

I remember watching this scene on TV many times when I was 12 - 13 years old and being highly troubled and moved by it...

Now I know why.

The short sequence can be watched here:

That's a good guess, but it's not it. The lead actress in the movie I'm struggling to remember is/was a German-born actress. She was a model that was cast in a number of these types of films in the 60's.
In the movie, her character resists the king/prince/sultan/sheik during her initial captivity, but eventually they fall in love. I guess kidnapping, humiliation, AOH bondage, (and maybe a light whipping) are the way to a German girl's heart.

The movie is:
Der lüsterne Türke with Ingrid Steeger. 1971

The movie „the lustful turk“ 1968 from David Friedman tells the same Story. There is a whipping in it ( look at the Database

Yes! That's it! The title "Die blonde Sexsklavin" was the one I was thinking. Friedman's is ok, but the Erwin Deitrich version is the one I'm after. Thank you! I couldn't remember the title because I was thinking it was something like "The Blonde Sex Slave" (which it sort of is). Had I remembered Ingrid Steeger, I could've searched for it, but I couldn't remember her name. Mystery solved!

In the 1970s, Ingrid Steeger was more known to be seen in funny films. At that time this film was still played relatively seriously. She portrays the lady quite defiantly. So she spits twice in the face of her tormentor when he threatens to whip her more.

Just to spoil the fun of the scene for you. This is how Ingrid Steeger looks today.... All things must pass.

Thanks for the background! I remember reading a quick bio on her; started out as a pin-up model then got into acting (the usual model-to-actor trajectory). She took whatever role she could land that paid, including some stuff that came back to haunt her when she was positioned to really take off with her career. Throw in some failed marriages and you have a good independent film.
