Nah, Alex doesn't harm his models, other than those "hanging" videos, which look pretty real, and therefore are very sketchy to me. I personally wouldn't mess with the spine/neck area as a little mistake could put the model in a wheelchair. I'm also unsure of how/when the blood runnels on the wall were created.

I have a couple of videos from that era of Cruel World (the white tile room), and I think Alex was experimenting with makeup as well as "blood". The first two images are of makeup, and the third is of White Rose with prosthetics (I think) and "blood" on her thighs. No explanation was given for the wounds on her thighs, but then I don't have all the Cruel World videos, so... sorry I can't give a better explanation.

A couple of questions from the peanut gallery for those GIMPers who do this for real, and I guess this is from caning, not whipping.

At what point do you know when to stop? Do wounds like these heal without scarring?

No idea, I never went so far... maybe you should ask some EP models. I always wondered how well they recovered from this and if they received some behind the scenes "after shooting care" to relieve them and limit the corporal damages.
One thing is sure,she is not ready to be able to sit comfortably for a long time...

Excellent question, and as a consumer I am very anxious to know the answer. Maybe someone knowledgeable about MoodP or MissBelle could answer. It seems like there have been some godawful beatings that one wonders how gimp recovers. Gaby at MoodP seem to take it hard and return for more later.

Nah I hardly ever point fingers. It was just an innocent comment, since the welts are very different, re: caning vs. whipping. But it looks like it was a very severe session. The woman must have a high pain tolerance.

Its on topic. Some of those whippings in the recent EP COP series are unbelievably harsh.
